What Should an LPN Do If They Don’t Want to Renew?

LPNs who, for any reason, do not plan to practice in Alberta anymore and do not plan to return to practice in the future should notify the CLPNA of their change in status through their MyCLPNA accounts.
If an application for renewal is not completed, the CLPNA will send further reminders and suspension/cancellation notifications as required by the Health Professions Act. Completing this process means that LPNs who do not wish to practice will not receive these notifications.
How to Cancel a Practice Permit
To cancel a permit for
- Log in to MyCLPNA.com.
- Under Change My Registration, click “change.”
- Answer to confirm cancellation.
- Fill out the form and hit “submit.”
